Thought you guys might get a kick out of the 29 I built for my daughter to drive. Pinto powered. After a couple of years sold it to give each kid a down payment on their first rides. This was in 81..she's 45 now..GASP! Last time I saw it, it was pink with a sbc. ah well..
I'm sure she was thrilled with it. This was my son's when he was 15. He was thrilled too! We're good Dad's!!
All I got from dad when I was 16 was permission to pull an old shoebox Ford home. lol Petty cool of you guys.
My Dad gave me this 65 Plymouth when I was 15, that was in 1983. I still have it, though it hasn't been driven in 10 years or more. I still think the "old man" is about the coolest guy I know.
Got my licence when I was 15 and my Dad let me drive his '47 Olds. I was more than happy with that. Then I bought my own '47 Ford with his help.
Let's see (3 boys), let them find the trucks they wanted to build when they turned 15.... Oldest boy has a 1950 F1 w/ flathead 8....still owns it at 29 yrs old now Middle boy had a 1955 F100 ....sold it years ago , is 27 yrs old now Youngest boy has a 1940 pickup(in avatar) still has it, he's 25 yrs old Now it's time for me to work on the Lafayette for me!
At 16 I ihad been driving for two years in a car I learned bodywork on from a pro (a mentor and huntin pal) and was working on a Henry J, all with the help and blessing of my dad. Ironically I worked after school for said mentor in his bodyshop. Repainted several trucks for a company my dad and I now work for 25 years later!
