Think these are just fantastic. My dream set would be these with Willys caps in a 17x8 with 5 on 5 stud pattern.
Can you get anything even close to this even in a alloy wheel? Or any after market repo do a 17x8 in 5 on 5 that I could find a Willys cap for?
Are these centres strong enough to take some V8 power after you fitted new wider rims to a set of original centers if that was the only way to go?

 

Hi there everybody.
Does anyone have 4 of these ? They are 16 inches, 4,5 wide 6 lug and distance to distance between holes is 2.75 They are Clev-Welds. I thank you all for your time, these are for a good buddy. That's what good buddies are for, right?

 

17 x 3.5 inch wheel with a 5 x 4.5 bolt pattern. I'm assuming they're Mopar. Would anybody have anymore info on this wheel. I'm also looking for one more so if anyone has one that they would like to sell, hit me up.

Yes, they are a dodge, plymouth style artillery wheel. Availability began in 1935 for those wheels on car and trucks. They are made by motor wheel Corp. Thanks

I just bought two wheels exactly like this. Where the heck can I get 2 more and what is the going price? Were these Ford pickup wheels originally? What hubcaps fit? Can I use tubeless tires?

 

Search General Jumbo or Cleveland Welding for those wheels. The 16" and 15" are sought after but I am running 14" on my 34 ford pickup.

 

No no those are most definitely not general jumbo wheels. Those are 16" Kelsey Hayes CHEVY artillery wheels. Make sure you know that they are 6 lug. Kelsey Hayes made aftermarket accessory wheels, hence artillery wheels for chevy, fords and all other sorts of vehicles. The going rate for that wheel is around $75 for a clean one. It all depends on condition.

 

I picked up 2 of these today and would like to know if they are 17" or 16" ? I don't know where they are measured ??? thanks jp

 

You measure the inside where the tire would sit. Those look like 17 x 3.5

Yes, I have baby moon hubcaps on my 18" and 20" dodge wheels which accept the same hubcaps. Get them from lug nut king. He's always at swap meets on the west coast or look them up on the Internet. I can post a picture of what they look like if you want.

 

Please post some pictures if you could. What type of baby moons should I search for? Would love to find some originals but aftermarket will work.

Trying to figure out what this came off? I'm thinking GM? It's a Kelsey Hayes 17", 5 on 5, "3.25 width. Looking at selling it but would like to know what it came off of! Only have the (1)

No, willys are 4 lug. That's a mid 1930's oldsmobile artillery wheel.

Any ideas about where to find or what cap will fit this wheel. I was told it was a 16" 1935 oldsmobile 5 on 5 Artillery. Has 5 clips, a 7" cap is too small, a 7 1/2 cap won't seat down far enough, and a 7 3/4" cap is just too big......any ideas?

 

Greetings, I need help on identifying these artillery wheels. They are 5x6 bolt pattern. I purchased them for a Ford and was disappointed when they were not the correct bolt pattern. I have researched the internet for a 5x6 bolt pattern and can't find anything. They have "Motor Wheel Corp, Lansing, Mich USA stamped on them.fficeffice" /><O></O>

Just found this thread and recognised a couple wheels. This one is 1933 Oldsmobile, the six used 5.50 x 17 tyres and the eight 6.00s so I guess this is for a six.

 

I think these are for a big series 1934-35 Buick. Find a pic of one and see. There is one here http://www.prewarcar.com:80/classifieds/ad50832.html The series 50 used 7.00 x 16 tyres and the series 60 and series 90 used 7.50 x 16 tyres. I think they might be around 5 inch width. The series 40 wheels were different, used 6.25 x 16 tyres and were 4.25 inch width.

 

Is it possible to fit wider rims to some original centres? Are they strong enough then to handle V8 torque and G loads etc?

 

I am not an engineer but it is worth remembering that all of these wheels are around 70 years old and you won't know what they have been through. It is probably safer to use new wheels on anything with more horsepower.
