  2. YES! But, those are so un-common, most people refer to chrome OG wheels as chrome reversed these days.

  3. I didn't want to pollute the dude's thread with a car with the wrong wheels. (Model A had Astros)

  4. I do, but with wheels that are not appropriate to this thread

whos got the best deal on OEM style chrome wheels? Im running them on my forty and my model a coupe, bought the tire wheel combos from coker but i need another set for a T roadster i'm build but the back ones have got to have a fairly narrow off set to clear the radius rods.

No, not everybody knows that. When some one calls and says they want some "chrome reverse" wheels, the only thing I can really know is that they want a chrome wheel. Then it take more questioning to find out what they really want from there.

No, you can still have wheels that use new rims that are "reversed" but they do look different than the old ones. I like to call the old style ones "tapered outer" because the backside (or front, when reversed) is more at an angle instead of being rounded. Wheels older than about '66 are usually tapered because thats when disc brakes became more common and they changed the design to fit with discs.

Since wheelkid chimed in I'll show the Chrome steelies that he made for Tugster's roadster.

Yep...I also have 14" x 6 1/2" chrome reversed wheels (painted them too) on the front of my Biscayne.
When I had the tires mounted, the guy didn't want to do it as he said these rims are no good, they have broke and been re welded. Also probably would not balance out.........Obviously not an old codger like me.....After a bit of an old guys explanation he mounted and balanced them.

I run a set of originals that my dad bought back in the day on my 34. It took a bit to find a set of 4 that weren't bent beyond usable.

    Great thread!

I hope to be able to afford some chrome wheels and thin whitewall tires for my Acadian by spring. Nothing says 60's custom like that combo.

Man, I am loving this thread! Brings back a lot of memories. When I was a little kid in the early '60s a guy in my neighborhood had a bright red ' 55 or '56 Ford with chrome reverse wheels & a Y-block with a lumpy cam. I used to love to see and hear that car coming down the street! Those wheels are some of my all time favorites.
