i've seen threads on kustom shoeboxes but none on one that just focus on the tail lights... for some reason its hard for me to think of good ideas for these cars other then the most popular ones. these quarter panels are soo tall and flat and removing the windsplit kinda makes it look even more barren and flat and empty . Tail lights that i do like in these are packards, 60 chryslers, 54 mercury, edsel wagons and a few more but i would like to see more

I can't find the pic in my hard disc, but 58 edsel blinkers are looking sick on a shoebox ! you'll need to panckake your trunk, but i don't think you're afraid about that !!! :D

Yeah....this has definitely been posted before....but I will play along...

The car has changed a bit since this photo was taken (I bought her in Sept 2010)...but the tail lights remain

    Lee lenses in mine:

I like the look of the stock taillights and windsplits, but the Lee lenses are smoother and cleaner looking than the stock glass lenses.

Merc o madness, do you have any more info or pics of this car. I'm guessing Rik Hoving has some but I haven't seen it before. Not sure about the louvered skirts but looks awesome otherwise. Sorry 'bout hijacking the post

I always appreciated this Edsel tail light installation, for thinking outside the (Shoe-)box.
It probably would have looked even better without the pancaked trunk.

Sure, Zed. I knew that. This one just happened to have a pancaked trunk, as well.

    Right here:

    http://www.leelenses.com/

Johnnie Smith is the guy who makes them now, and he's a very nice guy. Despite the fact that he's got a picture of my car on his website, I have nothing to do with his company other than being a satisfied customer.

Building a '49 coupe for my dad and frenching in some '56 Olds 98 lights. Not finished yet.....I had vertical '51 Ford lenses in it but didn't like it. I'm thinking about running stainless trim on top of the quarter that matches the lens stainless.

yup like those tailights, that is my friends car Ray Soff. I think they look good on a vert or a victoria but i dont think they look good on a sedan or coupe

  29. I got mine from "King Of Dice" www.kingofdice.com $44.95 telephone 804-758-0776.

owner Wayne Mount...Nice guy to do business with. Free catalog.
They also have a nice deep color if you use the High Intensity Bulbs, $10.00 pair and they wont get hot like the regular stock bulbs.
