LOOK what I found and bought!! Its a HUDSON

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by vintageauto, Nov 6, 2010.

  1. Hi All,

Yesterday I went to look at a friend's bunch of cars, photos will be in another thread.

As a side trip, I knew of this 1949 Hudson Super 6 and went for a look see. The car has been sitting in a garage for a few years, so it wasn't running, but it will no doubt fire with a couple of hours work.

In reality...this car was too good to pass up, so I had to buy it. It is all original from top to bottom, paint is shiny, but cracked...still looks presentable...Interior...incredible!! Check out the dash and upholstery. Engine is clean and looks ready to run. Check out the pics...they will explain it better than I can, and I got a Sunvisor with it!!!

I have no idea what I'm going to do with it at this point, but what a cruiser...and its original!!!LOL.

Hey you Hudson Guys and Gals, let me know what you think. I think it is SWEET...what a neat piece.

That brings back memories. The only friend with a drivers license had one in high school. It was great for chauffeuring around a bunch of teenagers. There was one family on my walk to elementary school that had a 4dr and a coupe. (it was up hill both ways:D) I liked the coupe.

Very nice original. I had a '49 Super 6 coupe that was the same color as the upper color on yours. Your car is in better shape than mine was and that was 25 years ago.

I know what I'd do with it----------I'd leave it just as it is, and drive it! Nice car!

One of the best I have ever seen that wasn't restored. You did good!

  19. Wow, beautiful shape. Someone stored it very well over the years. Leave it as-is; "they
    are original only once......."

Beauty!! Clean, leave it alone and drive it. Originals are hard to find. And they are only original once.

  22. very nice lookin hudson great score

  23. While you're getting it running, be sure to check and/or change the clutch oil.
If you're a Hudson guy you know what I'm talking about...if not do some homework.

All you need now is to find Ms. Daisy!

Thanks for all the great comments, and thanks Rich (Venza) I will check the clutch.
