I was looking at buying a '59 Ford Fairlane Galaxie and make it a nice mild custom. What are y'alls opinions about '59 Fords? Would it make a cool mild custom? If anybody have any pics they would like to share, that would be great too? I mainly found retored ones when I googled it.

    Thanks,

    Phil

Aerostar coils and blocks makes lowering these a breeze. '57 DeSoto front bumper is a natural but very hard to find. Pretty cars, they drive and ride nice too. Windshields are a bitch to find if they're broken. Rockers, lower rear quarters, and headlight buckets like to rot out, so check those spots for rust.

If you are just planning to lower it with some wide whites and nice caps, maybe dual exhaust on whatever engine is in it, I'd say you can't go wrong.

Its one of my al time favorites! My buddies dad has owned this one sine '60. I'd love to do a mild custom! I really dig the lines, especially the roof line on all the models!

  9. Here is some pictures of a 59 and 61. I once drove these cars 40 years ago. The 59 had a 300 hp 352 and crusomatic and the 61 has a 352 2bbl and crusomatic. The engines from both eventually made their way into a 56 ford htp I owned. They will both be gone to the crusher by spring. 40 years and i have never sold a single part from them. I used the rears and engines myself. andthe trannys went into a 63 galaxy XL that my brother owned. :D OldWolf

  10. Here is the car you want to start with. She's a Virgin!! Absolutly stock 77K miles, no rust, never been in a body shop and don't need one now. I'm doing a little service work on her now but once done could be yours. Why start with a P.O.S. ?

i have always liked 59's, they have very nice sculpted body lines and it's a one year only body style, anyway here's some picts of my 59 siting on bags.:)

I love 59 Fords and think they are very under rated cars, I say go for it! Do you have any pics of it?
