Pretty car. Needs to be lowered. Buy some Aerostar coils for the front (they're like $65 bucks new) and some 2 1/2 inch blocks for the back, and install. Best $100 you could spend on this car.

The '59's looked good with a tube grill, other than that since it was a one year only body style Ford pretty much nailed it the way it is,I agree also lower it for a better stance, your choice of tires is good you may want to ask for some photoshop wheel ideas.

I think the Caddy caps like on this '54 would look good.

  10. shave thge rear door handel and the emblem on the sail panel and ditch the wide whits and throw some chrome reverse on it maybe bring the front down about 1 1/2 inches (i hear the above mentioned aerostar coils will do this) leave the rear where its at

Whatever you do.. don't do it up so much that it can't be reversed. Flavor of the day won't be tomorrow.... or potential sale down the road .. it will be worth much more if it can be returned back to original.

im full on for a bellflower style car with that. I like the wires above, nice and low with NO AIR!!! some good paint work, but not over the top, some candy, flake, maybe some lace, diamond tuck interior, something along those lines

Most important step: remove that terrible stainless trim behind the rear wheels and the trim around the wheel weels, package it carefully and send it to me. I will make good use of it on my 59 Ford Ranch Wagon!! Sorry just being a smart ass, nice looking car, it is such a custom from the factory. I suggest as stated lower it, dual exhaust, drive the wheels of that beauty. I am going with the Aerostar coils myself and blocks on the back. Please no mag type wheels! Take care ~Sololobo~

Just curious why the Aerostar coils are so highly recommended. Is this strictly a Ford thing? Are they a good choice for other makes? Oops...I better go check the "Search" function before I get flamed.

I could see Bellflowers on that, the lower rear quarters are nice and flat on the bottom, some cars have a goofy angle that messes with the angle of the pipes but they'd work nice on that one.

Although then you need a more 60's looking wheel, or at least caps. Would work with Lancers, they have enough of a lowrider vibe to pull off the look with the pipes.

'57 DeSoto front bumpers are great but super hard to find. If you found one, run it, but don't hold your breath.

For shaving door handles, I'm all or nothing. I don't like the look of just the rears shaved. If you want a 2 door, I'll sell you the doors and quarters necessary to make this car into a real 2 door sedan.

Do the lowering, do the pipes, play around with different caps, leave the rest alone until you're ready to commit to a full paint and body job.

  27. If i were you, id throw bags on it, keep the same colors but put on some sweet pin striping, and put on the wheels that on on CGS59s.
    Sweet ride man.
thats jsut what i would do tho.
    bellflower tips would look sweet.
