Ford dealer truck from around gas city indiana.
I still have the door. The truck had lots of dealer ads on it, but most of it was so faded you couldnt see it. This door was the best one.

Keep seeing this thread come back - very cool! Here's a couple from somewhere... don't remember. One's web, the other at a run. FYI: For those of you looking for the "right" pencil, I always used a "Stabillo". You can get them in several colors, they blend with the paint, and clean up easily. I still buy them at my local hobby store. Good luck!

Here's some vintage 'double-layered' lettering on a rotting 1940's Reo deuce and a half, which was obviously owned by at least two different companies during its life.:D It's pretty much spent the last few decades rotting in my back lot.

  18. Here is one that I done on my own car. Its done with enamel paints.

Has any one ever started a thread regarding how many hot rod H.a.m.b.ers are also Signwriters? Would be an interesting thread. I know there are quite a few just in Australia alone.Let me know!

  29. The lettering on my pickup is original from 1958. 'Steve's Tire Shop' is still in Manville, NJ. When it was lettered it cost $25 for a local sign painter to do the door, hood sides, grill, cowl and bedsides.

  30. Somehow didn't get the pic included. Sorry.
