Man,,its soo nice to finally see more info on the 'fastback' novas....I always wanted one....I did a post on these a few years back when i 1st joined cause i located a owner who still had one along with 3 exp. 427 motors and he sent me all the literature on them along with a few magazine articles but when i moved there were lost. He said he was involved in the project and one of the reasos why he had the left over motors. Apparently the cars were being built only for racing but Chevy pulled the plug at the last minute and even destroyed like 5 of the cars right on the production line. If my memory serves me right only 7 cars were made and only 2 exist. At one point my father and i were going to clone one so we got the roof off a charger fastback (even tho I wanted to find a Marlin roof knowing it would prob. work better....lol) but the project never did get started cause i ended up in over my head with other things in life.
Thanks for ssharing the info you found and pics!!

Thats a cool idea with the 4 door, was this something that has been done before or was this your idea? Very cool, cant wait to see it come together.

  20. IMO early Nova's look best level all around (raised) with tires sticking out the back end ala Street Freaks.

I had replaced the springs and brakes out of a 64' V8 car . The initial reason I didn't keep it in is, the front alignment was screwed up with this set up,though I found out later that I had bad lower control arm bushings . I still have the spacers , I think if I were to run them I would use the new aftermarket lower control arms and subframe kit for more adjustability (more like later model novas and early 55's) As far as the spacers they're eelco's , it should give you at least a 2 inch rise in your ride height but you will really see a difference when you launch it . I also have combined to sets of leaf springs to raise the rear ( heavy duty and regular) made them like Super stock springs .In the picture I have a 1 inch lowering block on it was too high .
