I think the lines on the garage door are hiding the actual lines on the bow. I'd bet it looks perfect parked in a different spot.

Great thread, as I am trying to build a top frame :) Note I said "trying"

At least an inch to low in my opinion also being super critical the front bow looks a touch lower than the 3rd bow, I think they should be the same height with the middle bow a couple of inches higher.

I have templates of my folding machanism but i'm in the UK so probably not much help :(
The important bit is the hinge points, heres my build thread where i made mine, It may help you http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=340961&page=14 starts around post 271

Hey Folks! Here's a pic of one of our "Topsters" - a TRUE hideaway soft top for 28-34 Ford roadsters. It easily stores behind the seat or in the trunk, and the top materail comes off and stores separately. Check us out at www.topsters.com

Any top that keeps the sun off you and the rain out works for me. Oh, and the side curtains keeps the wife off my ass when it is cold out!

  9. This may not be perfect but it seems to work on my car. I think the top needs to fit the car. A hiboy vs full fenders. I like more chop on the hiboys.

    Langy wins.

Any chance you've got a step-by-step how-to thread on this top somewhere, Langy?

You know those '32 windshield sanctions they are leaned wayyyy back... Those make me want to shoot myself in the eye. I don't know why - the idea suits me, but the looks kills me.

    Anyway, best '32 top ever:

Here's mine , it started out as a bop top. Did'nt like the angle so cut it all apart and started over. I'm very happy with the look now.

I always thought this was a cool top. I think the key is the have the "B" pillar of the top, if there is such a thing, have a lean to it. Gives the feel of motion to the car.

    Yeah, can't stand those!!!

They remind me of the extreme custom harleys where they make everything lean/flow backwards..."streamlined". Then you put a rider on them and all at once it looks extremely silly.

Those windshields are the same. Too much of a good idea. It's too extreme! You put a driver in the car and I can't stand the angle of the windshield in comparison to the guys head being upright(but I'm a stickler for sitting low in any car)

Just run no windshield at all at that point..

Here are some pics of my top,LB mechanism modified 1inch forward 1inch down at the back to lower profile, and narrowed to get rid of the ears from the back. It still has a stock feel about it with a 'I think' nicer profile.
