Aluminum American Racing slots with M/T cheaters
-note the interesting shape the spokes form around lug surface, very different from ET slots

  5. Those are the coolest looking slots I've ever seen!

Thorkle Rod.....No 14"ers on here yet but I have a pair of 14" 5 spokes with old cheater slicks on them, I will post pics when I get a chance.

This thread gives me wood.... and if nothing else, shows how freakin' fugly those bloated, dirt-dauber-SUV tire Firestone "cheater" slicks are.

Yeah I am but as they are not relevant to this thread I will not post a pic. As they are close I went over there to pick them up and he seems to be trying to keep the flame lit while running a business.

Are you guys talkin about the aluminum slots that are on the back of the J in the one picture? If so, are those pretty rare? (I'm assuming they are, I think they are the only pair I have ever seen) They actually belong to a friend of mine, an old racer gave them to him.

  13. Love this thread! Question ...... were there any slicks made that were red lines? I noticed a set of blue streaks with red lines on one of these posts are they painted on?

What I have found out in my travels, the original kidney beans that didnt have lips were removed when the wheels were polished. All were cast with lips from Halibrand.

Here is an old all steel gasser I found in Arizona with all four original Halibrand kidney beans. Lucky me, the car also had a blown 392 Hemi in it. It was a survivor old gasser with a nice black repaint back in the 80's.

I used to say no mags in 14's, but with e-bay I have seen a few 14 inch magnesium wheels, but I have only seen them in five spoke.

Very cool thread, I love the look of the old magnesium wheels. I couldnt afford the real thing so I bought a set of American Racing 5 spokes and "aged" them with the help of some sand paper and salt.

Hey thanks! I should have known those came from a HAMBer. The M&H slicks that are mounted on the other 5 spoke americans will be dismounted and mounted on the ones I got from you. They have the bolt pattern I need for the Henry J, plus the rims are screwed for slicks (bonus).
