Looking Forward to this one. It's shaping up to be an awesome looking inaugural event. I think this might be the start of something beautiful!!!

Southwest Junior Fuelers Association just announced their Season Finals Race will be held at the Texas State Championships!

That makes the 3 biggest racing associations in the south along with the season finals for the Outlaw Fuel Altereds Association, and the Texas Blown Fuel Association all at one race!


On a side note: To anyone looking to stay at the track on Friday or Saturday night. If that doesn't work for you, or you want to be about 30 miles north of there, you can park your rigs in my shop parking lot. It's safe & secure, about 1 mile off I-35 in San Marcos near the Outlet Malls. There's enough room for a truck stop here, all paved, and the Sheriffs Dept roll through a couple times a night since this is the end of the county line. Contact me via Private Message if that's something you want to do, and tell your racing buddies who don't have HAMB accounts that the offer is there.

On another note, how about the H.A.M.B.'rs who are coming to SAR to either race or show your car (or if your just coming to sell stuff at the swap meet) how about posting a picture of the ride you will be in so we can meet up with fellow H.A.M.B.'rs throughout the day. My ride won't be ready, but me and my video camera will be.

Too late for this year. But next year, there have already been discussions between the owner of the recently recreated Rat Patrol AA/FD (that will be at the TSC this year) and Mr Garlits about running match races . The Rat Patrol, of course, was built for the express purpose of tryng to beat the Swamp Rat. Wouldn't that be a pair up at TSC-11, a Swamp Rat and the Rat Patrol, havin' it out in the 21st century!

 

I heard he was paying it all out in Prize Money to the Racers!

Weather looks great for the Texas State Championship Race this Saturday at San Antonio Raceway. The forecast models agree that the sky will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy, with a morning low near 60 and an afternoon high around 85. Due to the presence of a weak cold front in northwest Texas, the forecasters give a 20% chance of precipitation. The National Weather Service analysis sees only a very slight chance of rain as far south as San Antonio, with most of the isolated rain clouds expected to be much farther to the north and east of our race.

But with any outdoor event, as you know, you pick yer date and then throw the dice. If the event does get splashed by showers so badly that we can't complete the race, then Sunday the 24th of October will be the rain-date. Don't have any reason at all to think that we'll need it, but it's just good planning this time of year to have the options already on the table in case they might be needed.
