I think I'm gettn close time to start think about interoir after all these years, I want White and black, or all white tuck-n-roll. I have the dash and garnish molding painted bright white already and plan on running gloss black paint on the exterior any pics or advice would be greatly appreciated. sincerly M.
thanks I have owned it 7years know it was just a rusty shell when I got it but was already chopped. A friend said he had it chopped years ago in California. Then he brought it florida to die, took me a while to finally accuire it and have been trying to make a real car out of it ever since. thanks again M.
my '51 shoebox coupe interior, some are 'under construction' rear speakers 'outlet' right side. polished SS mesh around speedo hides turn lights, high beam, and idiot lights ...console box to hide modern stereo, made from an extra dash cut down and put together. speakers are in housing below console box. switches all relocated to left side.
Nice seats you guys have, but does anyone have any seat ideas for shoebox? i need to get a front bench seat, but they are rare in here and i guess there is no point to ship project seat from states to Finland. So,any suggestions?
Does it have to be from a shoebox? Just get any suitable front bench and modify it so that it fits... It´s still just a metal frame and upholstery.
No it doesnt have to be,just wondering what to look for.Shoeboxes are narrower cars than most same era cars.I dont mean that it have to be from 50's,but sixties or something...
yes, and the door locks, too just turned them in a small wood lathe. full interior rebuild link is http://public.fotki.com/RussB/my_cars/51-392/interior-modificati/ the link has some shots on making the bezels
sorry these pics aint of a shoe box but i hope you might get some cool ideas these are of my 60 chevy conv if you have a good upolsterer the possibilities are endless
Okay so these are my first seats so overlook the imperfections, but the white one is from a 53 chevy and the black ones are from a 64 caddy
I gotta know, where did you get those knobs????? Super cool!!! ***EDITED TO ADD*** NEvermind, I saw the link where you made them. Nice work!!!
Take a look at the seat from a '57 - '58 Ford two door. It is slimmer and lower than the stock shoebox front seat. It opens up the interior, allows a lower seating position and still looks "period correct". I don't know about the width, but I've seen this swap before so I'd guess it's doable without major mods.
