I found a decent 38 chevy coupe here locally, missing frame and a few other parts but good body, fenders etc. All interior mouldings etc are there . Price $650. Well I'm a Ford guy, but the 37-38 chevs are pretty cool, but I don't see many. I'm haveing a hard time deciding weather to buy this car or not? So could you guys post some inspiration pics, to help me decide wether to buy or not? Thanks, Rusty.

  2. The deck lid is worth more than that, and you're still wondering?

I know it's probably a good deal, but with no frame it's going to be a buger to move, and I'm shoert on space, also I'm really not up on chevy prices.

I sold my rear fenders and running boards for more than that.
Sounds like a good deal just for the parts...

X--GASSER (Reed) has one of THE nicest '37 Chevy coupes I've ever seen.

I can't find any pictures of it right off hand though.

Man, this reminds me of a 37 coupe I used to own. I Went to an old guys house who I knew had some stuff and he told me all he wanted was a little more than scrap price for everything. He had a really nice 37 chevy coupe sitting there with miniml rust and all the glass still in it. I bought it from him for $20
I ended up trading it for a complete model A running chassis.

You NEED to jump on that, especially at a price like that!

I'm building a '38 coupe, and if you don't want it, I could use it for parts!

I looked at buying a '38 this past summer but decided to pass, it even had a 392 Hemi in it! I'll dig up the pics I took.

Here's my dads in order of date's. 1st one back in the 60's before and after i was born. then he sold it to raise a family.then mom ,I , and my brother found it and bought it back.Through 5 owners and was just like he left it. In the 80's during restoration. then finally done. Pretty cool car Stock straight axle and drum brakes.Always had a 6 cyl. currently a GMC 302 6 bored to 321, with multiple carbs and a 5spd.

This coupe makes a snowy day look good! I too think the 37-38 Chevy coupes were some of the best designed cars of the pre-war period.
