This looks like it's the Kassa car out of NJ in one of its many variations....need Bob37 or 1935Ron to verify. If so it's probably an east coast show.

This one needs to be "cloned"!

 

Had to be a Larivee (Promotions, Inc.) show with that lineup of feature cars and a Mouse booth. It says Nassau on one sign, maybe New York?

 

I see Ohio plates on a few cars, NJ registration number on that boat... hmmm?

Either way, an amazing find by this "Spooky," and thanks for posting these incredible shots!

 

The reg. # on the boat suggests New Jersey & the 1/4 midget club (possibly now defunct) was in the NY/NJ area.

The Nassau Quarter Midget Association was a New York group and one of the boats has New Jersey registraion numbers, so I think you're on the right track. Larrivee is a good guess. It would have to be a "big" show to draw all of those highly recognized cars.

 

"OLDMACK" had a bit of info in an old post about the "Drivin Deuces" Car Club..."The Drivin Deuces were also the host club for The New York Coluseum Custom Car shows well into the 60s"....I pretty sure that's their '40 Ford pick up, where it says "Drivin Deuces" on the floor...???

 

That blue 56 Olds looks like the one Winfield built for Dennis Reneiro! I've never seen that version of it before. I've seen three versions of the car, when it was pink, then pink with the fogging and lavender. The things that catch my eye are the side pipes the quad headlights and the antennas. Thanks for the post Ryan!

 

every time I see any slides at estate sales I hope to find something like that... hasn't happened yet though.

 

Went through my uncles slides from the Korean war but a ton of cool stuff that may make the "Vintage Photo's from Days gone by" thread but nothing like those cool auto related photo's!

Also, never seen white walls with white lettering also, what kind of tires were those?

Also dig seeing 2 more door customs!

What is the last Winfield car? looks like a green to black fade? crazy.

Wow what a find! It seems to be an east coast show yes..seing the Carducci 48 Chevy, herb gary's 49 plymouth, and the drivin' deuces pickup at the same show screams east coast/new york/new jeresy.... again...what an amazing find! Where there any more slides?

 

Who knows how many more little treasure BOX's of film is out there....... THANKS..........

 

..what the hell is that device on the floor with the tape deck used for?...There's another in the photo of the Kassa car ..that's a serious power cord on that thing. Whatever it is, I want one!

ok I'm still obsessing over the device…looking close there seems to be a picture of that car laying on it. Since it's within the rope stanchions I have to believe it was dedicated to that car…my guess is it broadcast the information about that particular car over and over on some type of endless loop or long playing tape…a "hi-tech" gadget to take the place of the sign board ?

Not sure which show it is, but the lights in the ceiling should give it away at one point. Those are pretty unique. I will take a look in my magazines from the early 1960 to see if I can find anything that looks familiar.

the place looks spacious to me and purpose built for display, but not a big cavernous place like an arena or armory ... with all the marquee cars there I'm gonna say the New York Coliseum.
