-------------------------------------- To my mind, it's pretty hard to improve on the stock first generation T-Bird styling .....but I like this one too! Mart3406 ======================
I KNEW you guys'd be all over me for this, but no, I didn't have the means to move it that day and when I went back the following weekend - GONE! I'd like to think someone saved it, but the "dump" is a very efficient one, and they "clean up" frequently. -Dave
I should add to above by saying my brother and I were at the trash site on a tip. A local fellow (long time rod builder) was planning a move to another part of the country and had discarded a huge treasure-trove of vintage parts (that's why the pile seems big at a place that cleans up often). We picked up several parts for my brother's roadster - but had no room to save the front end in the pic. I'm gonna have nightmares for a loooong time! -Dave
THATS HORRIBLE!! i would have at least called someone to come get it.. or made arrangements to hold it for me or someone else.. oh well those headlites were only worth about 4 hundo!!!!!
'Slider's HOK', I can't believe your once much loved truck is still sittin' OUTSIDE of your shop! Ha (I'd better not open THAT particular can of worms)! Hope to see it on the road again, one of these days! Dan Stevens dba, Steelsmith
isettajohn, Can you provide a link to this Chevy? I have searched for it many times, for a number of reasons. Thanks!
It was from a July '62 Custom Rodder issue in an artical - "14 way out front end treatments". Thats the whole picture of it and were no others.
My cousins car, it was built in the early 60's. I just hate the modern rims he put on. It originally had Astro's
I recall a 57 Chevy showcar called "The Golden Nugget".It was owned by a fellow by the name of Joe Cecchini. It was sectioned and that had canted quads in it too.
That car has had a lasting impression on me. It was among the first cars I remember to use the Lincoln headlights, at a time when quad light conversions were all the rage. I also think the Ford mesh/Caddy bullet grille combo to be classic. Many elements of the car (white paint, canted fenders, Lincoln quads, and similar grille) were shared by the famous "Mountain Pearl" Ford PU of the same era, which had the distinction of being HRM's first full color feature car. (P.S. I was about 12 years old at the time. I haven't gotten over it yet!) Thanks again for posting!
Whats everyone using behind the 59 chevy bezels for the buckets? are 59 truck buckets the same as the car?
