Happy Friday...... Great start guys .....

I apologize if these are too far OT for the HAMB .... I posted a biker photo a few weeks ago and have been on a biker kick as of late. Hope to get back to the hot rods this month.

This is a retouch of an Internet photo from the TV series Sons Of Anarchy. Changed the background and tried a little digital painting.

I made this one as a perpetual trophy in honor of Collin Casey. It is for the Day of the drags race out in Texas. Collin was a big part of this event and everyone was shocked at his sudden passing. His memory will live on in my humble offering.

I was asked by Steve W. (he and will put on the race) if i would do a trophy and this is what I came up with.

I stands about 32" tall and has 12 brass plaques for the name of the person with the car with the fastest flathead at the race each year.

It will stay on display at the Contental Club in Austin all year so check it out if you are by that way.

"Went to Find Gas" scratchboard. I entered two pieces in the local county fair and won 1st and 2nd big pink and blue ribbons. This one won a second place blue ribbon. I guess you can find old hot rodders and appreciators of vintage iron everywhere.

Bomonster what do you use to scratch your image into the board? I have tried so many times to do a decent scratchboard but there is ALWAYS one scratch that screws it all up, how in the hell do you do it all so perfectly??

    Doc.

  10. Beautiful trophy, will it be on display at the drags this weekend?

  13. Thanks Clysdale- killer opening, pun intended.

I invented this bubble- car last weekend. Obvious influence here is George Barris' 'XPAK400 ' from the 1960 New York World's Fair.
It's unfinished- needs work on doors/glass, & a bubble over the as- yet un-drawn mill.

I'm enjoying the process of ironing it out.

  19. Buick59- you have re-posted the Elvgren. That's 2 bad(s). Your garage shots redeem the scene. Love the coupe.
Rip- offs are a bummer. Seems some folks burn near everything. I'm a wierdy who secretly wants to bust folks who burn movies. 'Spose it's no secret now.

    ...anyway - -

Bomonster- Works ace, way cool skratchn'.

    Ger- yep. Sweet !

    p.s; Rush_GTO , you've got GOOD taste.. ;)

I'm guessing since he is new he didnt realize its supposed to be original artwork not just car related stuff you think is cool.

  22. BTW; what's the story with Gil Elvgren? The reason I ask is that 35 years ago I saw a poster of a leggy brunette astride a Black Shadow ( & wearing a cap, like a copper's cap). I loved that poster. It was better than Vargas.
Could G.E have done it? ( These posters fetch bucks now..)
