<DD>Mr. Allen Swift (Springfield , MA.) received this 1928 Rolls-Royce Picadilly P1 Roadster from his father, brand new - as a graduation gift in 1928. He drove it up until his death last year.....at the age of 102!</DD>

<DD>He was the oldest living owner of a car from new. Just thought you'd like to see it. He donated it to a Springfield museum after his death. It has 170,000 miles on it, still runs like a Swiss watch, dead silent at any speed and is in perfect cosmetic condition. (82 years) ...That's approximately 2000 miles per year...<DD><DD>[IMG]<DD>

You guys amaze me........the longest I ever kept a car was my 34 5-window. Kept it for 7 years and that is only because , bank was holding the title :D Humping and Dumping seems to be my thing.......hats of to ya.

  6. I think about 7 years is my record. Most generally 3 years is as long as I keep one. By then the new has wore off and all the bugs are worked out.

I had a motor cycle that I kept from 77 to 85. But the last 6 months I had it it was in pieces. And that's the way it went.

  7. Thirty years...............

I received this car in about 1973 when I was in High School. The car belonged to my big brother when he returned from Viet Nam in 1966. He bought the car in Long Beach Ca. I am the 3rd owner

I bought my wagon in March of 78 for 1K everyone thought I paid to much. Other than 7 motors, 5 trannys, 3 rear ends and four set of rims it is pretty much the same as when I bought it.

  23. '57 BelAir since July of '64
'69 Nova since January of '69
'70 Chevelle since June of '70

  24. I've only had my '54 Ford Customline since June of this year but I'm quite sure that I will have it for more than ten years for sure. I'm more of the get it and fix it then keep it forever kind of guy. It's my first Classic/Kustom and I'm sure that will be more than enough nostalgia for me to keep it forever.

O/T Bronco, "Nite" edition. Bought it used in 99. Still got it, can't seem to part with it or work on it. I cleaned it up to sell about 2-3yrs ago. I have a big black dog, Jesse, he's 1/2 Rott and 1/2 Shepard and he freaks out when I start it to move it around the yard. Mrs. Highlander gets a big kick out of how proud he sits in the pass seat. So as I was cleaning it up to sell he was in his spot hangin out as I worked and she came out nearly teary-eyed, "...oh hon, how can you sell it? Look at him..." "Ok babe, not for sale." 100 bonus points for how she feels about it now. Go ahead and guess...
