Hey i thought i might have some luck posting this here, i am in the process of cutting the coils on my 63 Tbird and am having a lot of trouble. I used the coil spring compressors that attatch to the outside of the coil (one on each side), while trying to compress the spring, the long bolts (that go through the claw-like end pieces that grip to the coil) became completely bent, basically like a banana. I was able to remove the coil from the one side after about 3 hours. During this 3 hours i completely freed the shock and loosened parts of the A-arms to get a little more play, after all this i pried the coil out(i realize this is extremely dangerous). Basically i am wondering what the right procedure for this is? do i completely free the upper A-arm? ive also read of a different type of coil compressor for these cars... At this point i dont see how i could even get the coil back in. Thank you for any input.

If your cutting the coils, the spring should be a lot easier to get back in..
BTW welcome.. You should go do an intro..
