Help to id a tranny,please

    :confused: Trying to id this tranny,got it in some parts traded ,it was bolted to a sb Chevy scattershield,here are the numbers H3 c-81929 g 250939 on side shifter plate095664Z On small factory tag B-11x1 the side plate has 10 bolts holding it on.The vent is on top of tailshaft close to mounting bolts.Had a Hurst 4-speed shifter mounted to it.Any help will be appreciated,:confused: pictures wouldn"t load will keep trying.

    NO,definitly not a np435 this tranny is a side loader,.difference between it and Muncie,Saginaw and BorgWarner is it has 10 bolts holding the side shifter cover on.thanks for the try anyway.

    oh here's the scattershield...the thick aluminum adapter should be the clue that it's not a GM trans :)

    Thanks fellows,is it a good Mopar tranny or just junk.?

    Depends what condition it's in. They were a good trans, worth swapping into a Chevy

    It is definitely a good trans. Looks like you have the 23 spline version. There was also a heavier duty 18 spline version for the Six Pack and Hemi cars. The 23 spline will take a lot of abuse though. It also looks like yours is the B-body version from where the shifter mounting pad is, probably made between '64 and '69. If it was a B/E body version, there would also be a pad near the rear of the trans. The input bearing retainer should be either 4.35 or 4.8 inches. Keep that in mind if you look for a different bellhousing.
