I picked up this 65 Belvedere sedan a couple of weeks ago.Price was right and the body is real clean, other then one good sized dent in the right quarter.

Here's what I have planned, and the cars that it will be patterned after. The stance of the Fenner Tubbs Plymouth is bad ass,in my opinion.Gotta have a catchy name the Telstar satellite was launched a couple of years prior to 65 and it was a popular Surf instramental at the time.

Do you have the Chrysler Engineering Staff Technical Report that shows the building of the first AFX B-body?

I picked up a poor-quality photo copy of it a few years ago. Don't know if there are better copies available, but it's pretty cool--shows where they made all the cuts, how they welded it all back together, etc.

Got the right quarter welded up and started roughing in the body work. And got the left side filler piece tacked in.Not as far along as I hoped but a little at a time it'll get there.

Looks like it's moving along. I'm still following this one. Don't think I would have it in me to try altering a wheelbase. I can barely put quarters on.

  20. That looks funny! Oh! I guess that's the point. What is the tire combo going to be? Love these cars.

Lookin good ...looks like you have room to build up some material to reconnect the rear roof inner pillar to the wheelhouses with that rear deck out of the way. are you going long t bar, A100 axle ? are you building it liteweight w. fiberglass or heavyweight all steel?

Fronts will be Team III, 15x4's that look like the American Magnesiums.Rears will be wheels I'm having made to look like the Howards Wheels that were popular back then.

Doors, hood, fenders, dash and front bumper will be fiberglass. It's getting a straight tube axle.A100 stuff gets a little over used in my opinion. The inner piller as well as the trunk hinge braces will get tied back in before it's all said and done.

Got a little more done today.I cut the frame caps out of 2x5 rectangle tubing. Both are welded in solid, frame should be good and stout.I left the 1x3 inside for a little extra strenght.

I also bought a fiberglass mold from Mike Guffey fellow hamber so I can make me a correct tall A/FX scoop.I hope to cast one this next week so I can get it molded to my fiberglass hood.I attached 2 photos showing the differance between the race Hemi vs. A/FX

Got the front end all torn down and fenders bolted on, got some more fitting to do,fiberglass go figure.Axle is a 50in. straight axle from Speedway.I hate their short 32in. springs.I have a custom set ordered, they'll still have the 16in. front segment but the back half will be 22in.
