Im amazed at the lead work, i try every now an dthen but i make such a mess that i always change course.
I'd like to learn though, i hate bondo, and its friggin hard to lay down and sand!

I am no longer intimidated by wing windows!!
I know you guys probably know this, but i'll mention it anyways.....The more inches you take off on the A PILLAR, the more difficult the window pivot will be to modify IMO. So when chopping a car keep that in mind..... 3 to 5 inches!!! Put a little heat on the pivot , changed it's angle.......Done!! NO BINDING !!

What size steel plate did you use for the vent window template?

 

Wow!! Thanx so much guys!!! I've been working and looking at this car for too long now..... All i see are the flaws!!!!

The template is 3/16...... I think?!?!?! I go through the remnants at the metal store and pick whatever's there!

I WILL be done friday....... more lead and filling today!!! cleaned up the beltline yesterday and then some!

 

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that the customer will be very satisfied with the job you did "flaws" and all LOL

Blue rapid strip pads on a 4 1/2 " grinder..... very gently!!!! I love 'em!!!

I wish i had pics of the beltline but i didn't take pics!!!
I welded a bigger rod at the bottom and a smaller one at the top and narrowed the beltline as i went around the rear window. Welded both rods all the way and filed it with lead, only one lead stick BTW, Not as much as one would think. The beltline isn't very high, just enough to separate the top and lower body, and the customer wont be using trim. One day i'll own a pullmax!!!

Here's the final pics!! Now it's time to get ready for the SOK!!!
