Our club member Jim is the Deacon and youth pastor at his church. He is always doing so much for other people and has little time to get his 52 Chevy where he would like it.
He recently took a bus load of kids to New Orleans for a youth conference. So a plan was hatched to borrow his car while he was away and do work. We had 6 days to get this thing back to his house.
We knew it would be a challenge, and we were right. This is the car as we got it.

    Disassembly was started right away

We had plenty of holes to fill and old body work to deal with. The handles got shaved, finished smoothing the taillight mods and shaved the splash pan from lower qtr. panels. We also filled all the trim holes above the belt line

At the end of the second full day the primer was shot.

After wetsanding and fixing any major flaws it was taped off again and ready for paint.

We got fancy with the roof and gave it some lace and flake.

The chrome got a quick Krylon touch up and the whole thing was reassembled and delivered on the day Jim got back. He was speechless and we were tired.

And these guys managed to put mirrors on it, too. Not to mention staying away from bad wheels.

  23. Gotta love that smile. I think his shirt tells it all, he believes he has the greatest freinds. Sounds to me like he would be right.

That lace is sexy! That's a nice turn-around. It's nice to see good people being blessed.

Yup, gotta say that these boys are the real deal. Funny that I am smiling. Got off the bus after 20 hour trip (during which the ac cut out in Alabama for a few hours) after spending the week in NOLA with 25,000 teenagers (25 mine) and the wife wants to go out for anniversary lunch...no shower, no sleep, and one crabby Deacon, but I survived and came home to find the 52 and the boys in the backyard. They don't call us the Resurrectors for nothin'! Thanks for sharing the story Justin. And thanks again to the Rez boys!
