my dad had one when I has 9 tell I was 35 and sold it.it was a fun car to drive love the pictures good luck with the bld

More like sculptures; really beaucious metal-work!!

 

here you can see how well the door lines up with the quarter panel.


there where a number of things creating this sag in the door, one of them being when the floor boards and aftermarket firewall where installed the car probably wasnt braced and squared up. the a-pillar body mount is also sagging due to rust or age will be replaced and also plays a big part in this. this kinda worked out for us because we where planning on cutting out the aftermarket firewall because it was to plain and smooth and making a nicer more stock looking firewall. we are hand making the floors, we found the floors that where installed before where aftermarket and really didnt line up well enough to make it 100% sealed.








after releasing the tension from the firewall and floor we are now able to get the door where we want it to be. we now need to make sure our body is square and doors open freely before bracing the car up to start our new floor.

Actually thats not tig welded, thats all mig welded and full beads not stitched. Well we dont have a specific amount of inches, what we are after is what makes the car look really good. When we get the car back to having structure and everything opens and closes nicely i will start figuring out what the chop will end up being. I can say the chop we have planned is gonna be alot of work and will take making new panels for the rear and reshaping of the door tops.

Wow, beautiful work!!!

 

in these pics you can kinda see how murdered the cowl sides are and how the lip on them are not straight or consistant. the infield of the panel feels like somebody beat them up with a hammer.

 

now gettin to doing some repair work you can see the portion on the cowl that was cut out and replaced is starting to look nice again. the plan is to get the whole lip and surrounding area of the cowl looking tip top shop.





this is the pass. side so you can see the difference.


you can also see the lower portion of the cowl support all needs to be replaced also.
