I have some Marlin pics I took a couple of weeks ago... I'll post those later on today.........

 

An the REAL answer is, if you click on my signature & go to the Fastback pics you will see one titled Scott's. How many pics are there? & yes I know its locked. Cause the car is being restored & he doesn't want all the pics out yet.

There are 3 fastbacks currently being restored. And yes there were more then 3 built.

 

I saw photos along time ago of 1 fastback with no roof. It came off going through the light at over 125 mph and chashed down hard.That was when i found out they had fiberglass roofs.

 

That was before they put in a rear window. An thats why the rear window had a pressure relief like the GT350R.

 

found on another forum, can't recall which.
they all started out to be road race cars i believe.

I picked up a clean 64 4 dood chevy II for my son to make a fastback out of. I may go to gettysburg pa. To see one up close and get some pics.

I'm a Ford guy so my interest in Chevy II's is pretty casual but my curiosity is piqued here. On BadNov's picture site there is a white (or light) fastback for sale in WA.

Now being that Alan Green was a connected Chevy dealer he would have got that fastback straight from GM and raced it right away, no? It was later altered with the rear wheels moved forward and was still like that when the subsequent owner raced it and modified it further.

So... if this is that car how or why did it get put back to "stock" to sell?

Okay...... If you look at all the pics on my fastback page you will notice that they are all in order & it shows each stage as they were modified. The A.G car was put back to stock (from Bill Thomas) with I believe a doner vert shell.

 

It is locked because my friend Scott (the owner) requested it be so.

 

In the original Magazine article when these cars were first made the first one was for road racing, but marketed for all forms of racing. Im not sure on actual Hard numbers who really knows. Bill Thomas Race Cars was just that they did some dealer work but just a shop they would build anything for anyone with money. After starting the build on my Camaro I have been doing alot of research on him, his shop and projects a very interesting man with a great history.

I still say we go find a Marlin, do a "cut-n-slash". and marry it to my '63. With my popcorn welding, and your stellar paint skills, we ought to have a one-of-a-kind all steel fastback. Waddya say. No-Cal, SoCal group effort..

Originally not all the cars came with a rear window. That was added later. So I would say that you will need to try to scale it of a pic.

No. The molds got tossed back in 69, but this guy is a master glass guy. He does have some BT molds from back in the day.
