Those Swede guys really make the best outta their seasons. They build great cars in the cold and dark, and then they break 'em under the midnight sun. Pissah! as we say out here in Boston.

Wow! that event "rocks", some way fine iron, and a 59 Ford wagon that is a car I love. Dig that nice hollowbody guitar and vintage amp in the band shot, cool hay bales amd western threads, (Cowboy Vintage Clothing is my gig), very cool. Thanx for taking time to share a fun event with all of us. Loving it--- ~Sololobo~

What! No air-conditioned box trailers and power parking? Where's the megabuck builder's cars?
Great stuff guys, this is where the rod and custom game should be, we need much more of the same.

Nice pics! It's like every car I see that's from Sweden is super-traditional. It looks like the roots of hot rodding over there.

  19. OK, I have a question. We have been seeing these cool event threads on the HAMB for years. Who started these runs in Scandanavian gravel pits and why? Free venue? Place to get rowdy and not hassled?

I was wondering about this too. They always seem to include a nice hillclimb and plenty of flat turns. And no trees to run into:eek:

Tman, I really don’t know who started this gravel pits events over here but there is a long and old tradition of rally driving here in Scandinavia and to mix that with some heavy beer drinking, good music, nice people and a bunch of old American iron it makes the whole thing complete. You should try it in the states too it’s very fun.

Great pics! I love it that people over there aren't afraid to let it all hang out in the gravel. Like another poster suggested, certain clubs in the US would really get their panties in a bunch if they saw these pics. I say let 'em rip! You Swedes are crazy! Maybe thats where I got my craziness from, its an ancestral thing. lol

    Hello from Florida!!!
Looks like Sweden really loves Americana too!!!My brother-in-law Lenny Lljungholm, and from Stockholm, and myself, are planning on coming over soon with a few containers of 20s,30s,40s,50s,and 60,s cars from my dads/ uncles/family collection, for new clients there. We are bringing a 39 Lincoln Zepyhr coupe to leave there at his parents home to go driving in on our trips from then on. Would love to hook up w/some rodders there to for a cruise, beer, etc.I introduced Lenny to classic cars when he married my wifes sister last summer. Now he,s here in Florida and hooked like the rest of us poor souls.(o:}Best way to reach us is on our www.facebook.com page under"Atkinson Brothers"Take care,Jonny
