where do you get this stuff? I can't find it.

it was mentioned in a tech on doing door panels. It is chrome strip that is bendable.

 

There is that "chrome trim" you can buy at autozone or advance that all the thuglets put on the wheel wells of their 91 Impalas with 26" rims. I guess that could be used as trim on a door panel if you could get it straight enough.

 

I think that is just bendable plastic with a vacuum metalize coating (really thin aluminum layer with clearcoat.)

I've never heard of "c-chrome"

Guy called skipstitch wrote a tech article called "no-sew door panel tech". He talks about it but never says were to get it. I PM'd him, but have not heard back.

 

I buy mine at Albright's Supply. It comes in 5ft sticks and you can shape it anyway you want. I slide a flat head bolt in the back and bolt it on. Their local number is 662-286-8766 don't know their 800 number. Ask to talk to Poppy.

That stuff on the Rod and Custom article looks just like the door molding strips that glue into the center on a 97 Ford Explorer (the ones that glue on the lower belt line and protect against door dings). Its about 1/2 wide, flexible, and looks just like a peice of real chrome.
