mark and becky, i'm glad that i had the opportunity to meet you and have supper together. it's just too bad that there were so many folks there that we didn't have much time to get to know each other a bit better. but there's always next year. and the year after. and the next year. i'll be looking for you at MoKan in '10. stay safe and here's hoping that you do indeed get home tomorrow. on any trip two of the best moments are when you leave your home and when you arrive back again. sleep well when you get to your own bed.

Got a text from the General last night 6:45pm CST that they had arrived home.

What an epic journey. Glad I could be a small part of it.

yup. upgraded a while ago. glad they are all up again.

it is so weird being home.

i forgot to put the memory card back into the camera, so we have no pictures of the last day of travel. but, it was 700 miles across ohio, penna, new york, rhode island, and mass. lots of it in the dark.

did i mention that it's weird being home?

  15. Thanks for the virtual road trip!

  16. I enjoyed following your trip and was hoping to get a pic of our cars together at the Drags. I had to settle for the Starbuck's parking lot on the way out of town :).

Maybe next time I'll even get to meet you!

i kept seeing your car and wanting to check it out up close. i love the tail lights...

you should have come in to starbucks to say hi. we were the ones with the road atlas out, enjoying our last taste of air conditioning.

what a great weekend. i dont know if i can live on this every-other-year schedule we've been on.

Nice road trip Mark! Thanks for taking us along for the ride.

  19. I thought you might like the taillights :).

I didn't want to bother you inside as I knew you had a lot of miles ahead of you. I am glad to hear you guys made it home safe and sound. That was the adventure of a lifetime!

This was the first time we've taken ours out of town (a whole 2hrs, I know big deal :)) but I must say it was your posting and Bass' adventure that cinched it for me. So, thanks for the inspiration!

Just spent an hour at work(?) reading this.

Absolutely brilliant - superb pictures, very atmospheric.

Always planned a trip to Bonneville from here in the UK - one day.

    Cheers,
    Luke
