Thanks Doug for the amazingly well done work....it is always such a pleasure to see someone with the "EYE" shoot an event and preserve it for those that couldn't make it....they really made me feel the moment...Kudos for all your hard work and excellent visual decision making....Jack

Man,.... I gotta get me one of these air conditioners !!!!

Thanks for the pics,.... It's funny, I'm so busy all week at Bonneville and it's so big, I end up relying on Hamb pics to show me what I missed.

By the way...this salt racer is being recreated, with much of the original car by Butch Graham. His Dad, Athol, was killed in this car 50 years ago, when Butch was a three year old.
Butch still has the Allison aircraft engine at his home in Salt Lake City and hopes to put it back into the car soon.
The canopy is from a P-51 fighter.
His father built the entire car with the Allison engine for $2500 in the late 1950's.
It was determined that the car crashed due to a wheel failure.
Graham has reached 344 MPH the year before he died.

Hey, Magnus...no, got home last night....nice to see you and your friends.
    You guys are real rodders!!!!
    Pleasure to know you!

  9. FYI ... There's more info, pics, & video of the "City of Salt Lake" re-creation in the Athol Graham Bonneville Streamliner Rebuild: A Son's Dream & A Father's 300MPH Legacy thread.

Doug ... you might consider adding your (very awesome) images of the 'liner to that thread.

Nice story told with great pictures. Liked watching the light change throughout. All good pics but a couple standouts for me - the yellow/white umbrella Vesco streamliner, the big green Buick and the "O" flag with the people walking in the background needs to be hanging in MOCA!

Excellent shots. Thanks for taking the time to share with us. It's great to see people racing for the fun and satisfaction of it, rather than a big-money deal with all the baggage that entails.
