Just looking around for something to do tonight and saw that there is something going on at Bobs in Burbank. Probably a 45 minute journey from me so is it worth the effort?? P.
Its alright. I got over it pretty quick because there are a lot of "Car Snobs" there. People wont really acknowledge you if your car isn't in perfect condition. But you still see a lot of cool cars and maybe some local celebrities. Jay Leno hangs out there quite often.
As I am in the Super Chrysler Mini Van I think I will take my chances with the car snobs! Thanks for the input guys. leaving now so if anyone else is going and sees a 6 foot bald guy wearing a 2008 Hot Rod drags t shirt come and say hello. I might buy you a coke.... P.
Well that aint going to happen! Will trust my luck and hope the Mini van on stealth mode will get me in... P.
check out this story on Big Boy and the car culture associated with it .. it's worth a look ! http://www.examiner.com/classic-cars-in-dallas/bob-s-big-boy-cruise-night-an-american-institution
if you have never been, then yes! remember you live across the pond no? would you really want to say after you got home,"man i wish i would have gone!" after bobs you can hit up bobby green bar the bigfoot lodge! great music and beer! you'll love it!
Not only is the scene cool but the restaurant itself is a great example of mid-century design. As an added bonus, Cpt. Robert Williams (the lowbrow artist who is at the helm of Juxtapose magazine) used to hang there a lot. Go. See. Remember.
Well, I went. I saw. I ate Philly Cheese Steak. What a great evening, loved every moment. Real mix of cars, some interesting people and yes I am glad I went. The reason for my hesitancy was purely because I am here with my rather large family and didnt want to leave my wife with all the kids if it was a bit of a non event. Anyway, a few pictures. P.
