Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by DirtyDan, Sep 11, 2008.

  1. Beautiful car. I hope to be purchasing a 63 in the next couple weeks. What brand of tires are those and size? That the look I'm shooting for and thank for all the suspension info. I'll be doin the same thing.

  2. Great looking Riv!

  3. I met the new owner at Reggie's BBQ party before the Roundup. Really nice car.

  5. Man just stumbled on to this thread and wanted to say how nice that Rivi is. Those cars are so sweet and only need little to no work to have them set up just right. I know I am going to have to own one of those soon.

That is a nice Riviera. I have a 64 Riv and should have my air kit tonight. These pictures are great inspiration.

That Riv is Cool! Pretty in depth rebuild considering it was "just gonna be cut coils & supremes & call it done"

One question - why did you remove the door skins while you were painting it?

Probably because the skins bolt on. And it is the only way to take the door handles, locks and drivers mirror off.

Thanks, now it makes sense. I have never played with a Riv before & thought it odd that you would remove the skins on a car that was as good as that one when he started.

I know this is an old thread, but I just stumbled accross it doing a search on "Rivieras", and man, I'm glad I did. With my limited ability I probably would have been happy with your midway version, cut coils tires & supremes.

In my opinion, you did that Riv up perfectly!

Great vision. I got your pics saved for future inspiration.

Ditto!!! What a nice looking ride. I wish my '65 was that nice at the start... great inspiration though. I've got a LONG way to go. Glad it went to a good home. :)

    Later,

    Mike

I'm the lucky new owner. Had it for about 1 1/2 years now. Took quite a bit of talking but finally got it done. Put on a bunch of miles since I've had it and rides and drives like a dream. It will spoil you if you are use to driving a short wheel base car though.

Well, if you ever think about parting with it, put me first in line on the "want-it" list.

saw this car in person today and have to reinforce that pictures do not even come close to doing it justice. My nipples actually punched holes right through my new shirt.
