My grandfather's first car was a 1938 Chevrolet. I've always had a soft spot for them.

  12. there were many guys that had cars back in the days, your correct the quality was not that good and they would strip off all the extra to make the look smooth because my dad and older brother would throw away rear bumper kits etc but things change with time now 4 doors are acceptable not just coupes like in the old days, AND THE CARS YOUR DAD JUNKED WHERE THE CARS MANY OF OUR DADS GOT AND DROVE BECAUSE THE PRICE WAS RIGHT AND MONEY WAS TIGHT

Even if your not a "bomb kinda guy", there's no denying the amount of cool factor that is displayed in a fat fender-ed '40s Chevy.

But, what can I say. My opinions on bombs are biased.

To me, they are rolling art.

I don't know; my best recollection of growing up/living with my grandparents in the barrio known as El Rio, during the late seventies and early eighties seems to be rife with images of the neighbors/homies and their heavily accessorized and slammed down bombs.

IS that lace on the skirt? How about some more pics of it at differant angles? Strange break in the two tone, but I like it.

All this reminds me of Oxnard Blvd. at 5-Points, A Bomb on each corner at once. I believe that was in 74'. I was 12 then. Never forget that day on the way to Esplanaude Mall from Port Hueneme. Great thread!

Yes its lace...the whole bottom has panels on it. The break was tough on this car...i tried 50 different ways and kept coming back to this same look...its works well in person with the flow of the rear end. picture makes it look a little funny here.
