My husband raced at Bandemere raceway in Colorado back in the late 1980's. He had an A-Altered called "Insanity" was wondering if anybody has ever heard of it, and what might have happened to it? My husband lost it, when he moved to Jamaica for a while. A friend was suppose to be watching over his things while he was gone, and didn't do a very good job at it. He lost everything. Also, if anyone know's about her, would you have pics as well? He would love to see her again. Our anniversary is coming up and If I could just show him some pics of his long lost baby, it ould be the best gift I could ever give him. He is disabled now, and wishes so much that he still had her and was still racing. please e-mail at [email protected]

    Thanks much.

Saw a picture of a car called Widow Maker 2, made me wonder what happened to widow maker 1. I have always thought Gate Job was a sweet name for a funny car.

Driving north on US 61 one day I saw a couple of early Camaro's heading south on trailers. First one I passed had "Plan A" on the door, (you know where this is going) and the second, which was about a half mile behind, had "Plan B". Made me smile. Dennis D

My '32 will be built in a mid-late 50's drag coupe style. I have named it HOT MESS.

Back in the late 70's and early 80" a friend of mine, John Armenoff drove a Purple (plume crazy actually) 1963 Dodge wagon built like a SS Dodge max wedge car with a big white whale painted on the sides.
    its name was "Moby Dodge".
one of the most wickedest wagons I ever watched here in central Indiana drag racing.

In San Antonio, back in the early 60's I ran a '56 Buick called "Puff the Tragic Wagon":D The good thing is that nothing too tragic ever happened, unless you count being beat by a '59 Pontiac station wagon:(

There was a Mopar guy on Long Island with a Barracuda that I did machine work for on their 440's. The name of the car was Joint Effort.

I had a pretty good idea how the funds for the race car were generated...

In the 60's, my 62 BelAir Sport Coupe was raced in the North Texas area, mainly in Fort Worth, TX. It was named 'The Pied Piper' and was aquamarine (light blue) in color. The owner was Charlie McElroy.

After someone else bought it, they painted 'Barton's Transmissions' on each quarter panel, 'Mary Lou' on the roof above each door, and pinstriped it. I bought it at that time with no engine, transmission or rear gears.

I'm still in search of any photos of the car from that time!

Drop me a note if you may have any! Thanks!

  29. There was a big block Vega at our 1/8 mile track in Anaconda MT called Hyper Active. But we coined it HYPER SPASTIC! haha you can imagine why.

  30. I'm building and old-school Fiat Topolino that I'm considering calling "Italian Drag Queen"
    Or possibly "Time Well $pent"
