  2. Don't jinx yourself with the engine statement :) I always keep my mouth shut cause i tend to get real un-lucky if i say something. Looks killer and good luck at Meadowbrook.

It's good this car got in the right hands, with plenty of resources{ cabbage and ability} to do it right!! I'm very impressed with what I see in the pics. Thanks for all the updates, hope I get to see it in person sometime.

So let's see if I got this correct.
The car is sold without the aluminum nose on Ebay.
The original nose is found in Fla.
The new owner pays $226k for the car.
They opt to make a repo nose instead of buying the original.
WTF? Isn't the aluminum parts the whole rarity of the car? Why would you pay $226k for a car then NOT make it original?

Evidently whoever has the original front end thinks it is worth way more than the gent who owns the car did.

Glad to see the car getting back in shape. If I remember correctly it showed up in race coverage in the magazines on a regular basis when it was being raced. Back when race cars looked like real cars.

It's my understanding the OE front clip was beat and would be cost prohibitive to repair compared to fabbing up the new one.

Wow, that car is coming along very, very nicely! It's so cool to know that one more of the original Tempests will be back up and running.

As of an hour or so, ago, the E Bay Lemans is running and ready for Meadowbrook tomorrow.

The engine fired right up and other than a few gas line leaks, no other problems.

Made new steel lines and ditched the aluminum lines.

Blow the dust off and into the trailer it goes.

Scott will be on the road early in the A.M.

Hope anyone who has a chance to see it there, enjoys it.

The guys at Supercar Specialties have been under the gun on this for a few weeks.

Those involved in the resto are Scott Tiemann, Tim Fish, Dan Farr and Sam Boog.:)

I'm sure the guy with the nose wanted to exact major $$$$$$$$ for the orig. nose.
Now....let him sit on it forever. Rather than getting a reasonable $ for it and being part of the "story" of the resurection of the car....he's now a miserable footnote, if that. good......

I was at Meadowbrook too and this car sounds as good as it looks...just an awesome job on the resto. I live an hour from where this car was found and I'm glad I got to be at its first show...

Thanks Keith for posting the pictures.

Just got off the phone with Scott. He said that the Tempest won the First Place Ribbon for the circle of cars he was competing against.

The owner drove the car for the first time when he went up to receive the ribbon.:)

  24. A whole lot of these: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

And a metal guy with a LOT of talent!

That car looks absolutely beautiful! Do you have a pic of what it looked like the day you picked it up to post side-by-side with the finished car?

  25. Awesome!! The car sure turned out great. Do you have anymore shots of the other race cars there?
