Yeah, the "Pink Thing"..those are some good lookin Studebakers, but why would you put all that time and $$ into a bulletnose and make it look like that?..

  7. The guy that owns all them Studes I posted above has had about 70 Studebakers.
    A real fanatic.
    The pink thing...
His cars. His money. You need to see it in real life before trashing it.

All you guys with these modern Studes....here's mine, sitting in the wings waiting for me to get to it, showing 19,211 original miles. It sat in a barn since before 1960 (that's when the previous owner died). No chassis...just the nearly perfect, complete body and hood - a rat rodder beat me out of the chassis (with a severely rotted body) this should have gone on at the auction - but now I won't feel required to restore it! I'm lazily trying to sell it, but truthfully want to build it!

Here is one that DRD57 took of the 974 on the salt with 1FAT GMC push truck. The 974 is currently the second fastest Studebaker to hold a record on the salt. It is possible that next month it will be the fastest Studebaker that is holding or held a record on the salt.

I spent today block sanding the doors and preparing them for paint. The bottom of the doors were starting to rust through. This is just a temporary fix. The next time I will replace the lower skin. I am also fixing some damage on the front air dam. The salt and the runs there have been hard on the old car.

Yeah I took it to the Ol' Paso several times over the years, (late 90's,
early 2000's) and to the James Dean Run, where I received an award
    from Rich Pichette.
I just got it back on the road late last year after seven and a half years
    of down time.

Here is my 54 Conestoga in process. Found it in Arizona as a drag car with a tilt front end and a big block chevy. It is now C4 Corvette underneath (LT1/6 speed) and original style front clip. One of these days . . .
