Here's my chopped and sectioned 49 Cadi Sedanette with my metal man Jason Hawkins of Las Vegas. Next time you see it it'll be a roller.

The April 4 Two Guys Garage did a segment about "Shark Hide".

Suppose to protect any metal for years. There is a website.

  18. At last years LA roadsters show I was admiring an old guys bare steel 32 Brookville roadster which he had just built. It was beautiful bare so we got talking about how to keep it from rusting. He said a lot of guys he knows use an oil called Gibbs, basically a type of gun oil. He said that in order for you to get it prepped for paint you had to disassemble the car and wash all the panels down with solvent to get all the oil off. I would assume that having everything media blasted and then chemically washed would be the best solution to get it ready for paint once the oil has been used. He did say that the oil worked perfectly and needed very few re-applications.

He chose not to oil but just keep scotch-briting the car from time to time. I saw the car again this year and it still looked perfect.

Gibbs can be painted over. It's the only oil that I know of that can be. Just do the normal surface prep for your paint system, any residue of Gibbs shouldn't cause any issues. I have a 55 Chevy fender that was media blasted 6 months ago and given one application of Gibbs. In spite of a very wet winter over here it's still rust free.

it means one of two things:
    1. move the thread to the top of the list to get some more input.
    2. they need to go to the doc and get some cream. it should be gone in about a week.
