Already checked highly illegal to sell a kidney (but legal to buy one:confused:) Let's hope someone on the HAMB buys it so we can keep track of it.

I would say are 20k or so. That would be the first thing I would sell out of the car. That would be just to off set the price of the car. Then I would put a blown BBC in it sorry guys no hemi!

Much more than the current 10K bid, especially if it is original as they claim.

(Edit: I guess I was a bit too slow)

  13. Not a Flathead? :D

In a dream world... I'd keep the Cammer or at least run a big Old's engine.

That is way cool! I hope someone gets it that will fix it up right. It'd be awesome with some Halibrands, and Hilborn injection on that SOHC.

  15. Funny, I was thinking I would sell off the Cammer and put a blown 500 inch Mopar wedge in there . . .

Maybe I read it wrong. Seems like it is a 1942 willys that now has a 1966 427sohc which only has about 1 hour.
One piece hood doesn't even mount properly in the pics.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I would be asking for some documentation if it is claimed to be an old gas class car.
Still, a steel body coupe and cammer motor are worth quite a bit more than the current bid.

Just took another look at the pics, I think the body isn't bolted down. The bottom pic makes the rear fender look like its in side the tire?

I have been collecting Willys for many years and I think many of your estimates on market price are way low. It only takes a couple of high rollers to come in and I am sure they are out there watching. Recent threads here on the HAMB have put a steel bodied 1940-42 Willys coupe project or original in the $40-$50k range. The engine is a $25k-$30k piece. $60k would be cheap for this car, $80k would be top market but then again if you gotta have it and have a big bankroll...

Now anyone need a couple of left nuts?

With that steering geometry, that thing has to be an absolute handful... Especially with the shifter down below your thigh...

    Cool, though.

+1. I've been following the steel cars for a bunch of years and I agree with your assessment of their market values. A car with real history will really bring good money.

  28. Something goofy going on with this auction. All bids are now gone, and it's back to $200.00 starting point!

  29. Rich it also says the bidding has ended?
