Well, the new ride had four mismatched headlights and I got that squared away but the other little thing driving me nuts it the mismatched tires on the front and back. It has Generals (or something like that) on the front and TA's on the back.

When I can I want to get matching tires.

My question, black walls again or red lines? And yes they would be the new "evil" red line radials.

    Opinions please....

I spy a killer 330 Dodge that would look just right with the red lines. Perfect accent w/ the red interior.

Red lines were made for that car (which is pretty incredible, by the way).

Blackwalls are blackwalls. The car looks great.

When did redlines come out? After '64, I think. They'd look good on there but it looks great as-is with the blackwalls. Redlines might make it look like a year or two later, like '65 or '66. White letters came into vogue in about '68 and redlines thus faded in popularity. Nice Dodge.

  11. Merc Nice car.

No problem with radials from me. They actually were available in that era anyway but I wouldn't care if it was a 31 and you wanted to run radials.

My personal preference would be black walls. I could see it with redlines though.

Its just a matter of what you like. I think that diamondback sells redlines that look like old tires of you are after a bias ply look.

Yeah, the red lines would have been something like the first set of replacement tires era wise but I was looking for an excuse to have some since I have never had any and I was thinking they would look cool with all the black and red but the black wall do say "all business."

    I am torn on it.

I did order one of the new retro Sun tachs for it the other day so I can get the modern giant shift light tach out of it.

Has anybody gotten one of those tachs yet?

Leave it the way it is, it looks fine. I don't think redlines would work on that car.

Hell, give them a try. You can always sell them later if you change your mind. Day 2 is always a fun way to change the look of a car like yours.

    Nice ride.

It looks bad and clean the way it sit's.

    I'm not a fan of color cordination on cars....redwalls / red interior.etc.
I am a fan of less is more.

I vote for blackwalls. If you are going for the "period correct" look, the redlines were more of a GM (GTO, 442, 396SS) thing, at least until about 1966. I do recall seeing a few of the first Barracuda Formula S cars with Goodyear Blue Streaks (bluelines).

Coker has the redlines for my o/t '05 Mustang GT... When it's time to replace the stockers, the redlines are going to be next. Ford should have added those on the option list.. I'm sure folks would have ordered those..... :)
