Sold my '34 Ford truck, and replaced it with this. Looked for a nice Sport Coupe forever... Finally found an early '29 within 15 miles of home. This car was bought new in Knoxville, TN. Has been sitting in a dry barn for the last 42 years.

Finally got the A model home and in the garage. Time to get to work now. The last shot is not mine of coarse...but thats the general idea. Best looking sport coupe around IMHO.

I'm trying to get some pics of the car from the original owners son from back in the day.

The car on the salt is awesome... Love the '37 grille and hood. I saw pics of that car before but couldn't find them. Thanks for sending them my way. I'd like to see more Sport Coupe pics if anybody has them.

    Later,
    Kevin

Awesome!!!! Can't wait to see it progress. My only recommendation is to keep the stock 104" wheel base. Model A's look best with short wheel bases.

Oh yeah, the wheels are gonna stay right where Henry put them. The fenders are going back on this one.

Dropped axle, reversed eyes, and a Flathead V8. That's it. The rest is going to stay like it WAS.

Do you have to blow it apart and box the frame to drop in that heavy flathead? Do you need a stronger rear diff?

Yes on both. Probably a quick change, if things work out like I planned.

Joe McClelland's 30-31 Sport Coupe was always my favorite. He was a partner in Ford Parts Obsolete in Long Beach forever.

Kevin, Love the car you are starting with. Also like the plans you have for it. Always wanted a early Sport Coupe . . . . .

Good thing you hung out with R.G. as a kid. You should have no problem getting that flathead going.

I like that sport coupe, how does the top fold down on it with the door frames being solid?

Ahh, the Flathead King's nephew steps in....

The Sport Coupe top stays up. You are thinking about a Cabriolet. That car came around in '30.

If anyone says Sport Coupe Joe's car is the one that first comes to my mind, always loved that car since the May 1970 Rod & Custom feature. :D
