Hub cap air cleaner for my stove-bolt 6

    Well I had one good hub cap out of what was on my car when I got it,the rest were rusted,bad-heres how I put it to use[​IMG][​IMG]

    The bottom is actually the top of the original air cleaner(that to was rusted,on the inside-bad)Used exhaust pipe,cut a slit in it so it can slide it on my carb and can reuse the original clamp,painted the insides w/ header paint.

    I feel the same,but it will get the job done for now...its a 48car w/ a 53 truck 235 in it.That hasnt been rebuilt.I have no Ideas how many miles are actually on that motor,(car is 175,000)Not to pretty in the engine compartment lol.After I put it on I will post a picture of it.

    Looks very cool. But... did you remember to drill a few strategically placed drain holes in the bottom half? Gary

    i expected worse but it came out cool ..now check out the truck style air cleaner for those years and use the mesh they use on the edge and use a copper scrubbing pad as the element and you will be onto something

    I have one of those 5$ teacup size ones.
    That is much better.
    I think the mess on side would work also.

    No I didnt,I will do that tonight,it will be under a hood,away from rain,dont plan on driving it in the rain ....but I will do so just in case.Thanks for the info

    Drain holes would defeat the purpose of the air filter and allow dust to be sucked in through the drain holes. Bad idea.

    I keep finding those baby moon style caps that the Semi drivers stick on their trucks and seem to loose on a regular basis and one of those might be presentable as a top for an air cleaner. I think they are pretty cheap at the truck stops too.
