Can any of you suggest where I can find some good quality rear quarter panels or repair panels for my 1964 Falcon Convertible? Also, need a pair of rear outer wheel wells. The wheel openings on both sides are solid bondo from previous repairs. Thanks, Harold
There are quite a few Falcon parts suppliers that deal in sheet metal such as Auto Krafters, Mac's Antique Auto parts and of course Dearborn Classics out of Bend, Oregon (who are great to work with). All should have what you are looking for. Hope that helps!
Wow, I didnt know dearborn was out of bend!!! I must be lucky with my 64, all original paint and no rust to speak of.... thank god for transplanted reno cars
XxStrait-EdgexX, LOL! lucky you, my '65 sedan it's share of rust here and there...but that is what you get with a beach car (Originally from Longbeach, WA..spent 12-15 years there. Purchased in Astoria, OR). Owned my '65 since 2001 and put her into "retirement" from daily use 2 years ago. Started pulling her apart now to fix the rust and hop-up the drive train a bit
The problem I am running into is that all the above suppliers only have repair panels for the back half of the wheel opening on the 64/65 Falcon. The only way to get the full wheel opening is to purchase a complete rear quarter patch panel that is pricey and of questionable quality from what I've been told.
Same here so I am using some 18 gauge and making the patches myself for the rear wells.I also might ned a rear quarter for my driver's side. Was rear ended back in 87 and it never got fixed. If you find a place send me a pm if you don't mind and I will do the same if I run into anything. Thanks, Muncie
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories i have their front sections for my 62 and the fit and quality is really nice.. just to bad no one makes the full panel.. i need the full right side, but can get away with the left front section. Not sure how the 64s are though...
heres another full size one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/QUAR...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item3a569256a5
That is my problem, I can't seem to find a supplier for the front half rear wheel opening repair panel for a 64/65 Falcon.
What are you doing to the drive train???? Whats in it now a six or an eight??? Im hoping to drive mine to the portland swap meet this year, maybe Ill see ya there.
XxStrait-EdgexX, It has the original 6 in it now, and I intend to keep it (I love those lil' 6's and heard the ol' "you should drop a 302 in it" comment to many times). I plan to hop-up the 6 with an aluminum head/pistons, tri-power ( a set of 97's) and possibly a supercharger. The old 3-speed will be switched out in favor of a T-10 Borg Warner and will be connected to a 8" rear end. I plan to keep the body and interior fairly stock. I will definately be at the swap meet!
..Great minds do think alike! I have a few other goodies up my sleeves for my car as well. Want to keep her all sixties...steel wheels/caps, period tires, preiod tach, the works...
Found a great used one for the right rear...still looking for right rear...anyone know of where I can find one?
Man were in the same boat I haven't had any luck on a quarter panel either.Im still looking for a parts car to take what I need but haven't had any luck.I have seen a couple but I'm not willing to pay 2 grand for a donor car. Where did you find the used one at?
Correction to my last post...I found a left rear...still need a right rear. Found a rust free origianl pair from Colirado on eBay that were being sold seperately. Got outbid on the right side at the last minute!
Bumping this one up because I'm working on a customer car with quarters they purchased and the quality is terrible. Anybody have any suggestions for 64/65 Falcon quarter panels that are decent quality?
