Up here in Santa Rosa, I like the Super Burger. New owners have made some great improvements. I wish they had a parking lot for a cruise. I'll try to get some pics and have them up soon.

  4. Two "must stops": the Frosty Mill just north of Susanville CA on hwy 139, and Walat's on US 30 just west of Jennerstown PA. Don't let Walat's scare you...the Mountain Burger is beyond description...

And yes I've been around enough to know the difference.

Couldn't tell if anyone already posted this but… Earlier I brought up Linda's Burgers in Mountain View, CA & there locally popular "Parisian Burger", from when I was a kid… Well in the south bay some Armadillo Willies have a pretty good clone on there menu… served w/"Tater Tot's" like back in the day! For whomever might care!

  6. the weather is getting nice, time to cruize to the burger joints !!!

Yep!! This is definitely my favorite place to grab a burger! Especially on cruise night... It's places like this that just ADD to my motivation to finish my Model A so I can take it there, have some food, and enjoy my surroundings.

  12. Sam's No. 3, no parking outside though... burgers, fries, malts... it reminds me of days gone by... wait... I wasn't even a thought then!

Good food though, a tad pricey.

My all-time favorite burger place is Duane's Ono Char Burger, in Anahola, on the Garden Island of Kauai. It's a hole in the wall, with chickens, cats and bugs sharing your picnic table, but it has the BEST burgers!

If you like it real, you'll love the Roadside Diner in Wall Twp,NJ. This ain't no retro-wannabe prefab joint. It's a 1928 Silk City dining car at the same location since new.
Owner Dimitris "Jimmy" Gerakaris takes a lot of pride in his operation and his (93%lean) burgers are the best in the area! Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Di2FePfKJJA

Sad to say,so many of the Dog-n-Suds are gone now:( they still have a web site.Back in the early 60's in Champaign,Ill that was one of our favorite cruise places. They had some foxy car hops :D I wanted to get my '54 finished and catch a high school reunion and cruise there one more time(scratch one off bucket list)kinda took away some of my drive to finish the project.Guess I could get a souvenior mug off ebay:rolleyes:that post #444 must use sacred cows for their burgers,PRICEY!!

Just had one of the best burgers (musroom swiss) I ever had at the Crystal Palace in Tombstone, AZ.

  24. We don't have any cool burger joints around here anymore, but I do love me some Red Robin. Bacon cheddar burger and a chocolate or vanilla (or b&W!!) shake. Hell yes.

They are opening a Sonic in my town soon, so it will be cool to have an actual drive-in around again. Should be fun for Friday night shit talking and hanging out.

But the kids and their imports will fuck it up no doubt, like every other spot we used to have.......

In New Zealand there's hardly any Mom and Pop joints anymore, the chains have driven most of them out of business, Burger Fuel is the best chain .
http://www.burgerfuel.com/nz/ they sponsor a blown flathead altered, and cruise nights and other hot rod events.

Last time I was in the US , the Kiwi A Salt land speed team ate at Angelos
511 South State College Boulevard ,
    Anaheim
Great Food , pretty young carhops and great service in a burger joint that's been there for nearly 50 years .

Burgerville is pretty good in the North West.....for a chain .
I am going to print this thread and "test" some of these places, :D
    next US trip .

There's just nothing around here of my favorite period.
    So I made my own.

Don't go out, but always have a parking space and the food is always just the way I like it.
