Orange one was built, painted & striped by Manuel Cisneros from San Diego, CA.. He sold it a couple years back. I think the car is in Arizona.

(I think Manuel is on the HAMB)

One more. I saw this chopped sedan several times at BTT50's in St. Paul, virtually unchanged from '88 to '99. I love the Corvette grille in a Merc frame. Guess I have a thing for chopped 2-door sedans in this body style:

  5. Guess I am repeating what some others have said, but there just so many fine ones it is impossible to have a favorite. I like my 50 Hardtop because I can do it my way, on my budget, but there are plenty of other ones that just "melt me in my tracks." Even though the one Flop is building is a Pontiac originally, It is one I would love to see finished.

Every car so far has been prettier, but my actual FAVORITE is the one in my garage. The one I need to get off of the damn computer and go get some brake and fuel line for. Bye.

  11. This is my favorite only because it's mine.

All kidding aside, THe Larry Ernst hardtop is about the most beautiful one I've ever seen. Being a fan of these cars I find them all cool in their own way. They are a really nice "blank canvas" that you can really do alot of cool shit to. I have a set of those Ford windsplits up in my rafters and everytime I look at that red Fleetline I want to go out to the garage and start hacking away.
You can do them wild like Rusks car or mild like mine and they still look great.

I would vote for Bass built raw metal fastback from the past few years... that car is spot on!

Hope to get back to this soon! Gonna run it 'hot rod' style, down in front, no hood, black steel wheels w/whitewalls :)

I am suprised that nobody has listed this one from One Shot Kustoms, I have seen it in person and I gotta say that pics does it no justice-Golden Shower-great name & fantastic car!!!! ANd the second pic would be my car, still not running but I love it, I can't wait to get it back on the road just long enough to save some dough for bodywork!!!!

gotta agree with McPhail. though I like it in black more than purple.

I'm surely in the minority when I say the Valencia Chevy does not look right. not feeling all the flow on the backside nor the grille treatment.

Cort Elliott, British Columbia, Canada - from "10 Best Customs" article, Feb. 1964 Car Craft Magazine. Jack Williams is credited with the bodywork, Fred Welsh is listed as the painter. I've loved the lines of this car ever since I first saw it in that magazine; be interesting to know if it's still around or what happened to it.

  29. I like this one and should have bought it. But then would have had to put a 502 and Tremec in it. No other changes. It has front disc brakes, a hot 6, later model rearend and T10 5 speed now.

    Brad Masterson's Fleetline. Pure tradition.
