Needed something to hold my drag plaque in style, so I whipped this out.

Dan. Thanks. A serendipitous shot. Caught at the end of a photo shoot consisting of 15 vehicles during 40 mph winds. The sky colors are from dust in the air.

Gone for the weekend. I'll have to catch up Sunday Nite.

    Hey thanks!

Well, even though I started my illustration career way back in the pre-computer gouache and acrylic days, this one was done with a tablet and stylus. Not nearly as involving as slinging real paint, but it does allow me to fix my mistakes alot quicker than back in the 70's. Unfortunately, the art directors I work with in these modern times would freak if I didn't provide a layered digital file. Inspiring to see the beautiful "old school" artwork on here...I think I still have some gouache somewhere.

Ok, maybe a little off topic. But I'm adding this one because she loved cars more than any person I've ever met. She couldn't wait to get her nose in the wind.

The one year anniversary of her passing is coming up so I'm working on a bunch of paintings in her memory.

    I miss you Poet!

I came up in the same era, doing the same thing. Even though I've been working on a Mac since the first version of Photoshop I wish I could take some of their computers away and see how "skilled" they really are. The computer has become a crutch for otherwise mediocre talent.

??? This is an Exhibit of art by some of the most talented artists I have had the pleasure of sharing my art with. Computer assisted or not. Save the negative vibes for some other site. Slim

Please don't take my comment the wrong way. I wasn't calling out anyone on this site. I was referring to the "art directors he works with". I can relate to his comment.

Kinda like the difference between someone who runs a CNC machine and someone who uses, a mill, lathe, files and hammers.

Doing the old way is a dying art. And something that doesn't get a lot of respect from the younger generation.

Gotta question for any Hambers. My buddy Marty striped this piece with an ashtray. It was brought to him spray bombed black. He has know idea what it came off of or even what the guy used it on. Curious minds want to know...

The whole industry has changed take the computers away, and there is no industry anymore. A computer is simply a tool, not an end to a means, rather a means to an end. And yes, I agree art directors are a pain.

Mad Mark, that piece is referred to as a 36 Ford Waterfall. Goes in the middle of the dash on a 36 Ford. Should have some stainless under that nice artwork. Wish I could have gotten some pictures taken today for posting.

Waterfall from the center of a '36 Ford dash.... I believe a cabrio or roadster, since there is no w-shield crank hole.

Thanks cvstl and LAG. I knew it was a Ford piece, but that was it. I didn't figure that it would stump the experts on here very long. ;)
