There were 2 and 4 door wagons, in all 3 trim levels, as 1934 coupe said. The Nomad was a special 2 door hardtop wagon, only available in the top of the line trim package. Wide, Slanted B pillars, and a partially ribbed roof are the most noticed special features.

Notice the "B Post" is slanted on Nomads. Also Lower roof line/window opening, like a HT/Conv. I would get that 57, 4Dr wagon home if i was you. Good Luck
Yellerspirit, If the missing trim paint outlines can be trusted, the two pictures you provided are 1) 210 4dr wagon as indicated by the 'short' tailfin spear atop the rear quarter; and 2) a 210 Handyman wagon. The Handyman wagons were the two door wagons in '55, '56 and '57 which were in the 150 and 210 trim series (below the Belair trim series). They don't have the ribbed rear roof and they have a vertical 'B' pillar as opposed to the Nomad's stylishly slanted 'B' pillar. The common joke among Handyman wagon owners is the constant reply "It's not a Nomad". Scott/Gotta56forme
OH MY..... LEARN EM - LIVE EM - LOVE EM! EVERYONE needs to 'know what a nomad is. 55-56-57 chevrolet nomads are a work of art. in 55-56-57 there are 2 door wagons, 4 door wagons, sedan deliveries, windowed sedan deliveries & then there are nomads. the general public thinks any wagon is a nomad. i think they like saying nomad. 58-61 nomads were fancy 4 door wagons & in 68 chevelle had a cheapo 4 door wagon called a nomad. pontiac had a 2 door safari in 55-6-7 that shared the same 'stylish roof & chrome bar tailgate as a 5-6-7 chevrolet nomad. -- here are a few pics everyone on this board needs to be educated as to what a nomad actually is.
My first car was a '56 Chevy 210 2dr wagon. Back then, polish jokes were in fashion and most guys called my wagon a Polish Nomad. Not PC nowadays but all in fun back then.
yellerspirit, You're being sarcastic right? The guys who run the board those wrecks are on are obviously Mustang guys. It's a cool sight but I think they'd call a '50 Chevy wagon a Nomad. If it's a Chevy, has smallish wings, was built in the 50's, it must be a Nomad. The name was used on 4 door wagons from '58-'61 then retired for a few years, returning from '68-'72 on 'A' body wagons (Chevelles.)
theres a guy that lives a few miles from me that hit a tree with his 57 nomad back in the 70s -- it was smashed bad like that picture. he was way out in the boonies probably drinking. he just left it & got a ride home & never went back for it.
another fact people are getting dumber -- back then people knew the difference. today a falcon wagon is considered a nomad by the general public. i was born in 62, hotwheels came out with the nomad in 68 i knew EXACTLY what one was at 6 years old & had every nomad model & hotwheels color they made. i remember waiting on one i had to order through the mail & it seemed it took forever to get. -- today i have a real one & know of several sitting dormant in barns, garages etc.... there a car that never got thrown away much no matter how bad they were. some got away forever but not alot of them. in 68-69 when those alive 55 nomad hotwheels hit the store racks i was all over them but didnt dig those 4 head lights they have but i thought man they are coooool anyway im gettin every color they make.
Can't tell you how many times people have told me the Nomad I've owned for nearly 20 years is not a real Nomad, because "it's a Bel Air, says so right thar' on the side of it!"
The mustang forum boys might be confusing '57 Chevy wagons with '57 Pontiac wagons, all of which were referred to as Safaris in 1957, regardless of trim level or number of doors.
