Next year is at Port Macquarie.I heard that there is still going to be something put on at Cooloongatta under a different name. Port Macquarie is a great town and could be well suited to a Wintersun style of event.I think the operators of the run just got sick of the lack of support from businesses, but they were still willing to take the entrants and spectators money(the businesses that is) Lets hope the accommodation operators don't get as greedy as the Coolangatta ones.I think we pay around $1300 for 6 days(with a contribution from friends who stay). When we complained the managers comment was "well this is a peak period"Well wtf!!! Who made it a peak period???
Ill be going but just Sunday I think...get around and catch up with a few out of towners I run into every year...head in for the yearly tattoo....
Yep were heading over doing Winternats & Wintersun cant wait, heard there were 480 odd cars entered for winternats how many cars are there normally at wintersun ?
I'll be the first Yank to chime in. I'm goin'! Getting ready to board a plane later today. I will be at a booth with Australian Tiki carver Marcus Thorn and my pal artist Max Grundy. Max and I both designed shirts for the event and Marcus sculpted a very cool mug. If you guys get a chance stop by the booth and say hi. Looking forward to it!
Leaving now to head down to Coolangatta(1pm Wednesday) Only going in the street hack this year. Will post photos when I get back.Should be well in excess of 1200 cars
