I was going to mention the hum that the radio in my dad's '50 Buick made while it warmed up. :)

Listening to the local radio station on a snowy morning and hoping to hear your school on the list of closings.

hahah had fogot the warmuptime on the tv
    but now i remember.
remember every gas station had a Willys jeep
    or a Landrover
The springy sound of the clutch pedal in a Volvo Amazon
Blonds with big hair and miniskirt
    Kodak instamatics

And everybody had 4-5 guns hanging right by
the door when you came in to the house
and nobody even tought of stealing a gun

Nobody locked the door just put the broom
in front of the door so you could se nobody was home

Mazooma's box of roll caps just reminded me...used to take the whole box and lay it in the street, then take a big boulder and smash it ...only problem was with both hands on the boulder you couldn't hold your ears and they would ring for an hour.

punks...no not those punks, "cat tails"

remember the national anthem and the patriotic movie playing when T.V. stations "signed off" for the night....

tune up kits(points, condenser, rotor, cap, etc.) on a card you could buy from Pep Boys or R&S

Having to use little adapter wheels in 4 track tapes to be able to play them in an 8 track player. A FM radio adapter that went into the 8 track player. Sitting on the side of the highway waiting for my girlfriends parents '53 Ford to cool down and get over vapor lock on HOT afternoons. First time I was ever in a building that was air conditioned. S& H green stamps, got them @ the gas station, grocery store, etc. I could go on for days cause I'm old but have a good memory of lots of good memories when life was simpler.

helping my grandfather bondo the headlight eyebrows on his '58 Chevy

10 years old...turning the ignition key and (car in gear) running the front bumper into the garage wall (same car)

thick caked on grease on the garage floor you could curl it back with a putty knife (can still smell it)

kneeling between the front seats in the family Valiant

spraying foaming engine cleaner in the engine bay of my friend's '62 Impala...watched the wiring harness catch fire and burn the car to the ground

  12. I remember all that shit....but 1/25 models were a buck when I started building them in '58, A couple years later I drove delivery truck for a toy distributor....my price then was $0.50 per model with the employee discount.

Even cooler....I still have every one of them....sick.
