looks good as always....you got a touch with these ol trucks..been alot of inspiration for mine......dave
that would be my 67 squareback sitting on 14" Supremes thanks for all the kind words! plans are to get the frame painted satin black this weekend. in the mean time i finished shaving the firewall and then drilled the firewall for the brake booster kit. also working on getting the dash ready for paint. all the while the motor continues to take shape so that once the frame is painted and plumbed i can set the motor/trans on it.
ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS GREAT JOB & THANX FOR ALL THE INFRO . IAM DOING A '40 & THIS WILL HELP ALOT . IAM CONCERNED ABOUT THE FIREWALL . FANTASTIC , THANX. " runnin in the fast lane .... on a gravel road "
look under my profile, there is a complete thread dedicated to my 51 Buick. if you dont find it let me know ill post a link for ya. getting the cab ready so when the frame is done i can mate the two. undercoated the cab floors: painted cab wells to protect for years to come: painted cab insides that wont be visible, gas tank area, under seat, firewall and floor pans for more protection: this weekend i plan to spray the frame in a satin black in order to plumb the brakes and install the drivetrain as well as order a driveshaft. in the mean time the cab firewall, dash and suspension components will receive factory style green paint and many other small parts are and will be getting painted to make the assembly a little quicker.
hey guys i am looking for small block chevy "ram horn" exhaust manifolds, both sides, both turn back. please let me know if you know of any for sale. new or used as long as they are not cracked. thanks!
frame made it to black over the weekend, while today we got some green on some stuff. soon as i plumb the chassis the motor trans will be mated and installed. then the cab will join while i wrap up the brakes.
please let me know Noel! more progress on the truck. hopefully this weekend i can install some brake hard-lines, air hoses and fuel line so that i can install the motor trans and start consolidating this project. enjoy the pics... here is a 61 Apachie i am doing a quicky on. short list of work involved in this project include; fabricate a bed floor & bed supports, shave a couple things, 2-tone paint job and a few other things here and there: before after (flat pearl orange body w/ gloss white pearl roof, tailgate & grill insert)
Looks great! I have a similar build going myself, did you have to trim the inner fenders or under the grill for frame clearence? If so, do you have any pics of what you cut?
this one requires inner fender triming. ill post pics of it when i get to it. remember the body is about 2" lower than stock on this build. yesterday i put the cab on the frame. its looking more like a truck now i think...
i think you are referring to the floor work i did? no i fully weld it and then seam seal the floor top and bottom to be 100% weather proof followed by paint of your choice or undercoating ext.
i know progress has been slow on this build, much slower than i would like it to be at least. there are a lot of ducks that havent shown up yet and well, i just gotta pull them together so i can move this along. some parts arrived for the motor, still missing some parts too... hey at least the steering and shifter is finished...
I'm sure you can probably pick them up everywhere, but humor me. Where did you get the air tank? I wanted to mount mine in the same place, but I have the short & fat, 5 gal tank. Truck looks BADASS! Definately got me inspired to do some bangin and burnin.
