I remember Tony from when he worked at Jegs in 1967 then later at the Rod Shop branch "office" up on Karl and Morse...what ever happened to Hyde Park?

thanks for posting these photos.brings back memories.I bought a new SS396 Chevelle at Konnors Chev in Whitehall and raced it every single weekend in A/PS class at National Trail.I won my class every Sunday. It was yellow with a black vinyl top.Thn ran a 1969 Nova L78 in A/PS then into Stock Eliminator in 1970-71 (A/S).I wasnt very successful in Stock but remember getting beat by a lot of these cars in the photos.Tom Schumacher,Tom Elk,Morrison in Max Perf. ,Ron Garey,Dave Duell,etc..I've ben looking for photos of one of my old cars and enjoying your work,..thanks Mike Wygant

This willy's coupe was run by a guy named Henry Wernke out of Cincinnati. It was the most beautiful gasser of it's time. He went to Columbus to a points meet, a guy made an offer on the car , and Henry pulled the motor & trans, and sold the guy a roller! Henry went on to be crew chief for Jimmy Booker's T/F Chevy

Not exactly sure what's goin' on under the hood, but it's worth zooming in to take a closer look.

No name, decals or class designation - I'm thinkin' this car was a fresh build when the photo was taken.

The best part, the very best part of this photo is the grin on the driver's mug.

Yep, lots of history at that strip - 1st all-female pro final, 1st Muldowney win, 1st sub-4second run (the Pollution Packer rocket car ) and still holds the mph record for 1/4-mile Top Fuel

56 Royal Lancer, thanks for the pictures and all your time. My first time to NTR was in 72 for the Spring Nat. But seeing the C/G Fetters car brings back old times. Remember standing at the counter at Clayton Auto Parts on old 40. Trying to soak up the knowledge from last weekends drag races. To a young pup like me it did'ent get better than that. Ron

Man, I dig these close-up shots. Not sure who's driving but that is Jerry Litzinger behind the car. He had some badass Fords over the years, was my neighbor for about a decade. Jerry was a good guy and a good neighbor R.I.P.

Another shot of "Altered Ego", the "El Toro" Fuel Altered ramp truck in the background is just about as cool.
