Event Coverage Swap meet in Winnipeg Manitoba, May 16 2010.

I'll be there with a trailer load of goodies, any HAMBer's planning to attend?

 

Where in Winnipeg??? I might go, but I think my passport is expired and it is alot tougher to get back into the US without one nowadays.

 

It's at the Assiniboia Downs (sp??)/Red River Ex site on the west side of the city, just north of Portage Ave and west of the Perimiter Hwy.

Cool! If you come up for it, look for a white 12x6 cargo trailer with "Al's Haul-Away" signs on it. It'd be cool to meet some HAMBers at the event.

always wanted to check out that swap meet but never had time, is there lots of swap meet vendors there? if the weather is like it is today i`ll probably head out there. do they also have a car show there at the same time?

 

I'm selling off a ton of Model T stuff including my touring, plus some other odds & ends I've got laying around. I'll have a white 12x6 cargo trailer in my stall with "Al's Haul-Away" signs on the sides...should be easy to find me. Drop by if you can!

It's a fairly big swap with a large variety of vendors, and there is a car show as well. The long-term weather forecast shows it being above 20C for the day too, which will be nice.

How far west of the perimeter?

Its not tougher, its impossible. Used to be if you were travelling by air you needed a passport but even if you drive across now you need a passport. We all know who to thank for that.

It's at the Red River Ex / Assiniboine Downs park. The entrance is a block or so west of the perimiter off Portage Ave.
Gates open for vendors at 6am, for buyers and car show folk at 8.

Pop by my trailer and say hi if you're there! I don't know where exactly I'll be set up until I get there.

Al, would you mind explaining to the class why you are selling your touring? I thought you had a pretty cool build plan for that relic.

I remember going to the Wpg swap meet many times, but that was back when it was held at Polo Park.

As much as it pains me to sell the touring, the money it should bring will go a long way in helping fund my new garage project. I need a decent shop right now more than I need a second project. I want to completely re-do the Essex and I have to have someplace bigger than my current 12x20 to work in.

Car show starts at 8, as far as I know. I hope I can get away from my booth long enough to check it out!
